Harbison: November 19, 1828

Schubert's Trout Quintet and Die Forelle are juxtaposed with John Harbison’s homage to Schubert, November 19, 1828. Named after Schubert's death date, Harbison's work imagines Schubert's metaphysical journey after death, transforming fragments of Schubert's unfinished ideas into a modern contemplation on creativity, mortality and relevance.

Interdisciplinary collaboration combining poetry, music, theater, and film. Featured Bryce Dessner's compositions set to Ocean Vuong's poetry, staged by Kaneza Schaal with innovative use of war artifacts as percussion instruments and video projection elements.
